GOSHEN TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Goshen Township’s zoning commission will review final development plans Monday for two residential projects along State Route 28, including one that would bring single-family homes to the longtime site of Eagles Nest Golf Course.
The commission meets at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 3 at the township administration building. Two cases are on the agenda: a final development plan for the single-family residential portion of the Eagles Nest project at 1540 State Route 28, submitted by Drees Homes, and a final development plan for a residential development called Enclave Creek, submitted by Victor Kapitula of Kapital Properties LLC.
The Eagles Nest address has been home to a public golf course of the same name since 1962. Drees Homes’ application seeks final approval of the single-family home portion of a larger development planned for the property, following an earlier zoning change the township approved for the site.
Drees Homes is a family-owned homebuilder founded in 1928 by German immigrant Theodore Drees, who started the company after settling in northern Kentucky across the river from Cincinnati. Now headquartered in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky, and still run by the Drees family, the company has grown into one of the largest privately held homebuilders in the country and is among the most active builders in the Cincinnati region.
The Enclave Creek case covers a parcel identified in township records as 112202C131. The application was submitted by Victor Kapitula on behalf of Kapital Properties LLC.
Goshen Township’s zoning commission is made up of members appointed by the township’s board of trustees to staggered five-year terms. The commission reviews zoning and development applications and makes recommendations to the trustees, who hold final authority over zoning decisions in the unincorporated township.
