MIAMI TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Miami Township will hold its fall Clean Up Days on Sept. 18 and 19, giving residents a chance to drop off bulky household items and shred sensitive documents free of charge, the township said in a Facebook post.
The dumpster drop-off runs from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, and 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at the Civic Center parking lot, 6101 Meijer Drive, according to the township. The Service Department will bring in several trash dumpsters for residents to unload damaged or unwanted household goods, including furniture, toys, bikes, grills, concrete blocks, building or landscaping lumber, small and large appliances, lead batteries, lawnmowers and weed eaters.
Mattresses and box springs must be wrapped in plastic and sealed with tape before drop-off, the township said. Items that will not be accepted include yard clippings, leaves, tires, wet paint, alkaline or lithium batteries, propane tanks, anti-freeze or any other hazardous material.
A separate on-site paper shredding service will run from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday only, at the Miami Township Safety Service Building, 5904 McPicken Drive. The township said that event must be entered from McPicken Drive, since there is no access to the shredding site from Meijer Drive.
Residents must show proof of Miami Township residency to participate in either event, according to the township. Acceptable proof includes a state ID or driver’s license listing a township address, or a utility bill showing a township address paired with a state ID.
Clean Up Days are held each spring and fall, the township said. Questions can be directed to the Service Department at 513-248-3728.
Miami Township, in the northwest corner of Clermont County, is home to roughly 44,000 residents and is governed by a three-member board of trustees — Mary Makley Wolff, Ken Tracy and Mark Schulte — along with Fiscal Officer Eric Ferry.
