NEW RICHMOND, Ohio — Pierce Township Fire Department has placed a new ambulance into service at Station 45, the house that covers Ohio Township under a fire and EMS service contract, the department said in a Facebook post.
The paramedic unit arrived at the station Tuesday after a graphics package was applied by MySignPro in Amelia, according to the department. It is built on a 2026 Ram 5500 chassis carrying a remounted Horton ambulance module, refurbished and remounted by R Enterprises of Greeneville, Tennessee.

Horton Emergency Vehicles, headquartered in Grove City, Ohio, has manufactured ambulances since 1968 and is now part of REV Group, a major emergency-vehicle builder. R Enterprises specializes in stripping used ambulance modules and remounting them on new truck chassis, a process fire departments use to add a modern chassis and updated electronics to a serviceable box at lower cost than an entirely new ambulance.
Station 45, at 2877 Mount Pisgah Road, is one of two houses run by Pierce Township Fire Department, which has provided fire and emergency medical coverage to Ohio Township by contract. The department’s headquarters, Station 44, sits on Locust Corner Road in Cincinnati. Together the two stations cover about 37 square miles and roughly 18,000 residents, according to the department.
The department traces its roots to a volunteer squad organized in 1956 and has since grown into a career department with 43 personnel, including nine firefighter-paramedics on duty at any given time. Crews are cross-trained in water rescue, hazardous-materials response and other specialized disciplines. In 2023, the department responded to nearly 3,000 calls, including medical emergencies, structure fires, auto accidents and severe weather, and it holds a 4/4y rating from the Insurance Services Office, a distinction held by roughly 7,000 of the nation’s 30,000 fire departments. Fire Chief Craig Wright leads the department.
