PIERCE TOWNSHIP, Ohio — The Pierce Township Zoning Commission will hear an informational presentation on data centers when it meets Tuesday, according to the township.
The commission is scheduled to convene at 6 p.m., the township said in a Facebook post. Lance Mobley, director of site acquisition for Crane Data Centers, is set to give the presentation, according to the agenda. A public comment period will follow, the township said.
Crane Data Centers is a developer and operator of large-scale data center facilities. The company’s outreach to the zoning commission follows an Aug. 4 meeting at which the panel took up a broader discussion of data center regulations alongside a residential cluster zoning classification and a possible rezoning of two neighborhood streets, Tib Day Lane and White Birch Lane, according to the township.
Ohio townships establish zoning commissions to review proposed changes to zoning maps and regulations and to forward recommendations to township trustees, who hold final authority over zoning decisions. The public is welcome to attend Tuesday’s meeting and offer input, the township said.
Pierce Township covers about 23.5 square miles in the southwestern corner of Clermont County along the Ohio River and is home to more than 16,000 residents, according to the township. It is governed by a three-member Board of Trustees.
