BETHEL, Ohio — Bethel-Tate Local School District has earned a perfect score on the state’s annual evaluation of special education services, the district announced.

The district received a 4.00 out of 4.00 on its 2026 Ohio Special Education Annual Rating, placing it in the “Meets Requirements” category, the highest of four rating tiers the state assigns, according to Bethel-Tate Schools.

The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce issues the rating each year to every school district and community school in the state as a federally required check on how districts are implementing the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, the law that governs special education services nationwide. The overall score blends two measures: a compliance score reflecting adherence to federal special education requirements, and a results score reflecting outcomes for students with disabilities. Districts that fall short of “Meets Requirements” are placed into one of three lower tiers — “Needs Assistance,” “Needs Intervention” or “Needs Substantial Intervention” — and can face additional state oversight.
