BATAVIA, Ohio — Clermont County commissioners are scheduled to consider an amendment expanding how federal pandemic relief money can be spent on the Bach Buxton Roundabouts project in Union Township, along with a transit funding extension and nearly $280,000 in additional sheriff’s office spending, when they meet Sept. 2.
The board’s draft agenda calls for commissioners to approve an amendment to a subrecipient agreement with the Clermont County Transportation Improvement District, allowing American Rescue Plan Act funds to also cover right-of-way acquisition costs for the roundabouts project, according to the agenda. The change would not add to the $500,000 in federal relief money already allocated to the project, known by state project identification number 90740.
Commissioners are also set to authorize a contract extension with the Ohio Department of Transportation for the Clermont Transportation Connection, covering the state’s Ohio Transit Partnership Program and Urban Transit Program for state fiscal year 2026. The extension covers about $367,022 to complete invoices and drawdowns on public transportation purchases in the county, the agenda said.
Separately, commissioners will consider supplemental appropriations of roughly $278,680 for two sheriff’s office divisions. The Sheriff’s Investigations unit would receive about $121,741 across regular salary, overtime, fringe benefits and other expenses, while the SAFE Unit would receive about $156,939 for salary, fringe benefits and other expenses, according to the agenda.
The agenda also includes several routine engineering and development items, including the release and replacement of performance-maintenance bonds for the Grove Park and Rosewood subdivisions, acceptance of new record plats and bonds for the Woodhall Crossing and Lakefield Place subdivisions in Goshen Township, and maintenance bonds for water and sewer main extensions serving the Villas at Meadowside and Towns of Thirty-Two subdivisions.
Commissioners are also scheduled to extend a payment-processing contract with Gila, LLC, doing business as Municipal Services Bureau, through September 2027, and to approve subscription memberships including a Cincinnati Enquirer subscription and Grammarly licenses, the agenda said.
The board will also hear a health benefits presentation from USI Insurance Services and issue proclamations recognizing Suicide Prevention Week and National Preparedness Month, according to the agenda.
The regular session is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. at the county administration building in Batavia.
