OWENSVILLE, Ohio — The Clermont County Fairgrounds hosted its annual Fall/Halloween Campout this past weekend, welcoming families back to the grounds after a two-year absence, fair organizers said.
The weekend campout is one of three seasonal camping events the Clermont County Agricultural Society holds each year at the fairgrounds, along with a Spring Campout and a Labor Day Campout. The nonprofit society has operated the Clermont County Fair, which dates to 1849, and oversees the fairgrounds at 1000 Locust Street in Owensville.

This year’s campout featured a new addition: a first-ever skeleton scavenger hunt held Friday evening, organized by volunteers Katie Browning and Lisa Schott. Children searched the fairgrounds for pieces of a skeleton to assemble, according to the fair.
Prizes for the hunt were donated by Park National Bank and Owensville’s Grammas Pizza, fair organizers said. Organizers also thanked the broader volunteer corps that put on the weekend, saying the campout “is not a one-person show.”

Fair officials said they plan to expand the campout to two weekends in 2027 and will open registration earlier to accommodate the added dates.
