UNION TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A traffic signal at Eastgate Boulevard and Eastgate North Drive will go dark for six hours Thursday while a contractor replaces a cabinet and other components damaged in a crash earlier this year, the Clermont County Engineer’s Office said.
Work is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 27, according to a post from the engineer’s office. Stop signs will be placed in each direction at the intersection while the signal is out of service, and all left-turn lanes will be closed for the duration of the project.
Officers will be on scene assisting with traffic control, the office said, and drivers were urged to use caution and allow extra travel time through the area.
The intersection sits along the Eastgate corridor in Union Township, the county’s largest township, near the Eastgate Mall shopping center off Interstate 275.
The Clermont County Engineer’s Office maintains traffic signals on county roads throughout Union Township and the rest of Clermont County’s unincorporated areas. Jeremy P. Evans, the county engineer, has worked in the office as a traffic engineer since 2005. He was appointed acting county engineer in 2019 and was elected to the post outright in November 2024.
