BATAVIA, Ohio — Families across Clermont County have four chances to put on costumes before Halloween night, with trunk-or-treats and trail haunts scheduled almost every weekend through Oct. 29, according to the Clermont County Convention & Visitors Bureau.
The bureau, which operates as Discover Clermont, posted the schedule on social media this week, encouraging residents to plan ahead for what it called a stacked trick-or-treat season.
The lineup opens Saturday, Oct. 17, with Boo Fest from noon to 2 p.m. at the Clermont Family YMCA’s west parking lot, 2075 James E. Sauls Sr. Drive in Batavia. The YMCA of Greater Cincinnati holds Boo Fest as a free, trunk-or-treat-style party at its branches each fall, with a DJ, games, snacks, a costume parade and prizes awarded for the best-decorated car trunks.
A week later, on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 6 to 8 p.m., the Clermont County Park District will host its Halloween Trail Haunt at Sycamore Park, 4082 Ohio 132 in Batavia Township. Sycamore Park is one of the district’s largest sites, with picnic shelters, an accessible playground and a paved trail along the East Fork of the Little Miami River that will serve as the haunt’s route.
On Wednesday, Oct. 28, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., the Tri-State Warbird Museum will open its hangar for Hangar Halloween, inviting costumed children to trick-or-treat among the museum’s restored World War II-era aircraft at 4021 Borman Drive in Batavia. The event includes candy stations, Halloween crafts, games and a chance for children to climb into an aircraft cockpit. Admission is $12 for non-member adults and $7 for non-member children; museum members are admitted free, with children of members paying $5.
The run of events closes Thursday, Oct. 29, when Ohio State Parks staff hold a trunk-or-treat at East Fork State Park, according to Discover Clermont’s announcement. East Fork is a roughly 4,870-acre state park along the East Fork of the Little Miami River managed by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources’ Division of Parks and Watercraft.
Discover Clermont said additional fall and Halloween events around the county are listed on its website.
