GOSHEN TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Goshen Township Fire & EMS will host a public memorial service Friday morning marking the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, the department said in a Facebook post.

The service is set for 10:30 a.m. Friday at Station 18, 1849 SR 28, the department’s headquarters. Pastor Phil Hopper of Hill Station Baptist Church will lead attendees in prayer and a moment of silence to honor the victims of the attacks, according to the post. The department said everyone in the community is welcome to attend.

The ceremony will take place at a newly rebuilt Station 18. The original station was heavily damaged by an EF2 tornado that struck the township in July 2022, and Goshen Township Fire & EMS operated out of a temporary facility for years before the rebuilt headquarters opened in May, according to the department. Station 18 serves as the base for the department’s fire and EMS chief and the deputy chief of operations.
