MILFORD, Ohio — The Milford Exempted Village School District is warning local businesses that a company called Elite Sports has been soliciting sponsorships on the district’s behalf without authorization to do so.
The district said it became aware that Elite Sports was contacting area businesses seeking sponsorship deals tied to Milford Schools. According to the district, officials asked the company multiple times to stop the solicitations, and Elite Sports refused.
District officials said Elite Sports and its subsidiary, Campus Box, do not have legal authority to sell sponsorships on the district’s behalf, and businesses contacted by either company should not engage with them.
“Milford Schools is grateful for the tremendous support we receive from our community,” the district said in a statement. “Through their sponsorships, our business partners help create meaningful opportunities for students, including providing new athletic equipment, supporting unique learning experiences and strengthening programs across the district.”
The district said current sponsors do not need to take any action, and that existing sponsorship agreements remain valid, with the district continuing to provide the recognition and benefits included in those agreements.
Businesses or organizations interested in an official sponsorship, or that want to verify whether a solicitation is legitimate, can contact Jeff Johnson, the district’s director of business operations, at [email protected] or 513-576-4157, according to the district.
