MONROE TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Construction is progressing on Veterans Village, a 19-unit housing development for homeless and unstably housed veterans, Clermont County officials said.
County commissioners toured the construction site this week to review progress on the project, which sits on 15 acres along State Route 125 near Mt. Holly Christian Church, according to the county. The development is a partnership between Clermont County, the Clermont Metropolitan Housing Authority and the Model Group, which is serving as general contractor.

The $10.6 million project will include 16 one-bedroom and three two-bedroom units ranging from 650 to 950 square feet, each fully furnished with a washer and dryer, internet access, a patio and parking, the county said. A community clubhouse will offer office space for property managers and Department of Veterans Affairs staff, along with a gathering area, kitchenette and computer room, in addition to a gazebo and pickleball courts.
Clermont County put $5.1 million toward the project from its American Rescue Plan Act allocation, with more than $1 million coming from the HOME Investment Partnerships Program. The Cincinnati Development Fund, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati and the State of Ohio also contributed funding, according to the county.
Residents will be selected through the HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing program and will pay no more than 30% of their income toward rent, with the housing authority covering utility costs, the county said.
Commissioners broke ground on Veterans Village in June. Construction is expected to be complete by late 2027, with residents able to move in by early 2028, according to the county.
