NEW RICHMOND, Ohio — The Clermont County Public Library’s New Richmond branch will host a “Show & Tell Stories and Swap Meet” for adults Saturday, Sept. 5, at 2 p.m., inviting residents to share the story behind an object and trade unwanted items with their neighbors, the library said in a Facebook post.
Guests are asked to bring an item with an interesting story to tell, plus at least five gently used or new items they no longer need to put out for other attendees to take home, according to the library. Registration is required through a sign-up link the library posted with its announcement.
Any items that go unclaimed at the swap meet will be donated afterward to two charities, Give Like a Mother and Bluebird Bus of Hope, the library said.
Give Like a Mother is a Cincinnati-based nonprofit that operates as a community resource hub, providing clothing assistance to children and teens and connecting families to services such as food, child care and housing aid, according to the organization. Bluebird Bus of Hope, also based in Cincinnati, runs a mobile outreach program that brings community mentors and support resources directly to people in need, according to the organization.
The New Richmond branch, at 103 River Valley Blvd., opened in 1980 and is one of 10 locations in the Clermont County Public Library system, according to the library. The system traces to a 1948 countywide vote establishing the library, with services beginning in 1955. The branch is open Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The information contained in this story was obtained from the Clermont County Public Library.
