WILLIAMSBURG, Ohio — The Clermont County Public Library’s Williamsburg Branch is hosting a traveling petting zoo and a program pairing children with grandparents this week, part of the branch’s fall lineup of family programming.
A petting zoo run by Sun E Farms will set up at the branch at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, the library said in a Facebook post. Visitors will be able to see Highland cattle, Flemish giant rabbits, Southdown babydoll sheep and Indio Gigante chickens, among other animals. The event is open to all ages, and no registration is required.
The following day, Thursday, Sept. 10, the branch will hold a Grand-Friends’ Day program at 4 p.m., inviting children to bring a grandparent or another favorite older adult to the library. The pair will make crafts together, interview each other about what life was like when the adults were young, share a snack and read books aloud to one another, the library said. That program is geared toward children ages 4 to 13 and requires advance sign-up.
Both events are being held at the Williamsburg Branch, 594 W. Main St., one of 10 branches in the Clermont County Public Library system. Clermont County voters approved formation of the countywide library system in 1948, and the system began offering library service in 1955. The Williamsburg Branch underwent a 2012 renovation that added public space.
