MILFORD, Ohio — The Clermont County Public Library will teach children and teens basic wilderness survival skills next week, timing the free program to the release of the newest “Hunger Games” film.
The program, called “Hunger Games Survival,” is set for 2 p.m. Nov. 3 at the library’s Miami Township Branch, 5920 Buckwheat Road. It’s open to ages 8 to 17, and registration is required, the library said in a social media post.
Participants will learn to identify plants and use a compass, tie basic knots and make a paracord bracelet, according to the library.
The workshop arrives ahead of “The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping,” a prequel to Suzanne Collins’ dystopian franchise that follows a teenage Haymitch Abernathy through the 50th Hunger Games. The film, directed by Francis Lawrence, is scheduled for release Nov. 20.
The Miami Township Branch is one of several Clermont County Public Library locations, which offer services ranging from 3D printing to notary assistance alongside traditional checkout and programming, according to the library.
