BATAVIA, Ohio — Clermont County commissioners are set to consider a $1 million state grant for a Batavia Township water main replacement, a multiyear contract for water system automation and two grant filings supporting crime victims and struggling families when they meet Wednesday, July 22.
The regular session is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. at the county administration building, 101 E. Main St. in Batavia, according to the board’s draft agenda.
Under the agenda, the board would authorize County Administrator Thomas J. Eigel to sign an Ohio Public Works Commission grant agreement for the Chapel Road Water Main Replacement Project in Batavia Township. The state grant of $1 million would be paired with a local match of $1,213,530, the agenda said, with the work carried out under the State Capital Improvements Program for fiscal year 2027.
Commissioners also would award a contract for SCADA system integration and support services for the county Water Resources Department to Rawdon Myers Inc. of Milford and RoviSys Inc. of Aurora, based on the lowest and best bids received April 16. The work carries a total estimated annual cost of $125,000 per vendor over a three-year term, with an option to renew for an additional year, according to the county.
On the non-consent agenda, the board is asked to acknowledge the electronic filing of a 2026-2027 Victims of Crime Act and State Victims Assistance Act grant application to the Ohio Attorney General’s Office. The application seeks to continue the victim advocate program run by the prosecuting attorney in the county’s common pleas, municipal and juvenile courts from Oct. 1 through Sept. 30, 2027. The filing totals $81,124, including a $74,538 VOCA award with a required local match and a $6,586 state assistance award, the agenda said.
Commissioners also would authorize the county Department of Job and Family Services to submit a Purina Foundation grant application on behalf of Clermont Family and Children First. The grant, ranging from $10,000 to $50,000 with no local match required, would fund a wraparound program working with Pressley Ridge, the Clermont Animal Shelter and Inter Parish Ministry Food Pantry, according to the county.
In other business, the board is scheduled to approve a request to advertise for bids to replace the 911 generator at the Grant Tower, 3020 state Route 125 in Bethel, with bids to be received until 2 p.m. Aug. 27. The agenda also calls for accepting the MGS Water Treatment Plant building improvements project in Miami Township as complete and releasing $8,820.40 in retainage, and for a change order reducing the Legendary Trails sanitary sewer contract in Pierce Township by $23,294, for an adjusted price of $2,059,205.
The board is also set to approve supplemental appropriations for 2026, including $50,000 for juvenile probation, and master service agreements for county fencing work. The meeting agenda includes a presentation from Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati on the Clermont County Lead Safe Ohio program.
Commissioners are scheduled to enter executive session to discuss personnel matters and the possible purchase of property for public purposes, the agenda said.
Agendas are subject to change, and items may be added, revised or removed before the board takes final action.
