BATAVIA, Ohio — The Clermont County Board of Developmental Disabilities is asking local classrooms to invent an October-inspired ice cream flavor for ScoopAble, the Loveland ice cream shop that employs adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Teachers can have their classes design a flavor complete with a name, an ingredient list and the inspiration behind it, the agency said in a Facebook post. Submissions will be accepted from the end of August through mid-September, followed by a public vote to pick the winning entry.
The class behind the winning flavor will receive an ice cream party for the whole classroom, according to Clermont DD.

ScoopAble, at 6405 Branch Hill-Guinea Pike in Loveland, is a small-batch ice cream shop that makes its own waffle cones and custom cakes while employing adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The shop describes itself as “founded on a simple belief: everyone deserves the chance to work, contribute, and belong.”
Clermont DD is a public agency that provides support services to Clermont County residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities across every stage of life, from early intervention for infants through adult services. The agency regularly partners with community businesses and organizations on employment and inclusion initiatives.
