BATAVIA, Ohio — Clermont County commissioners are set to consider a 30-year, 75% property tax break for a project in Williamsburg Township and a $2.7 million contract to replace part of the roof at the county jail when they meet Aug. 5.
The board’s draft agenda, released ahead of the 10 a.m. regular session, also includes a new contract for hauling sludge and wastewater from county treatment operations and several routine budget and personnel actions, according to the county.
Commissioners are scheduled to adopt a resolution authorizing a Community Reinvestment Area agreement with ADS Batavia Inc., a Delaware corporation, according to the agenda. The agreement would grant a 75% exemption on real property taxes for up to 30 years on improvements built within the Williamsburg Township Area 1 Community Reinvestment Area, with the exemption period beginning no later than tax year 2042 and ending no later than tax year 2072, according to the county. The agreement would then be forwarded to the Ohio Department of Development, the Ohio Department of Taxation and the Clermont County auditor.
Separately, the board is expected to authorize Vice President David L. Painter to sign a $2,742,905 contract with Garland/DBS Inc., of Cleveland, for a partial roof replacement at the Clermont County Adult Detention Center, according to the agenda. The work, procured through an Ohio Department of Transportation state purchasing contract, is to be completed by Dec. 31, according to the county.
Commissioners will also consider awarding a two-year contract to SOS LLC, doing business as Southern Ohio Sanitation, of Batavia, to haul sludge and raw wastewater for the Clermont County Water Resources Department, according to the agenda. The contract, estimated at $172,735 annually with an option for a one-year renewal, would take effect Aug. 25, according to the county.
Other items on the agenda include a proclamation designating August as Child Support Awareness Month in Clermont County, resolutions converting performance bonds to maintenance bonds for streets in the Primrose Creek and Viking Village subdivisions, and appropriation changes adding $45,000 for Juvenile Detention Center overtime and $95,000 for sheriff’s office continuing professional training, according to the county.
The board is also slated to approve several master service agreements, including for fuel station maintenance, landscaping and tree removal, first aid supplies, and fence repair, according to the agenda.
The meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m. Aug. 5 at the county administration building in Batavia.
