WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A tree that fell onto power lines shut down a stretch of Meyers Road in southern Clermont County on Monday, and fire officials are warning drivers not to try to squeeze underneath it.
Washington Township Fire & Rescue said in a Facebook post that Meyers Road is closed to through traffic from Mullen Road to its dead end after the tree came down onto overhead wires. Crews on scene confirmed the wires are energized, the department said.

Though the fallen tree appears to leave enough clearance for a vehicle to pass beneath it, the department said the tree could shift, the wires could still be carrying power or a vehicle could become stuck underneath, putting occupants at risk. “Do not attempt to drive under the tree, you will be putting yourself and passengers at a great risk,” the department said in its post.

Washington Township Fire & Rescue is based in Moscow and serves Washington Township, a roughly 36-square-mile area along the Ohio River in southern Clermont County.
