FELICITY, Ohio — The Felicity-Franklin Band Boosters are asking the community to donate used instruments as the school district’s fifth grade band program grows, the group said in a Facebook post.
“Our 5th Grade Band is growing tremendously this year, and we couldn’t be more excited to see so many young Cardinals discovering the joy of music,” the group said in the post. “With that growth comes a greater need for instruments to make sure every student has the opportunity to participate and succeed.”
An accompanying flyer posted by the boosters listed specific instrument needs: six flutes, five clarinets, two alto saxophones, five trumpets and 13 trombones.
Felicity-Franklin Local Schools enrolled 636 students across four buildings for the 2024-25 school year, according to the U.S. Department of Education’s National Center for Education Statistics. Its elementary school, which serves students from prekindergarten through sixth grade, had 346 students that year, and the district’s band program begins in fifth grade.
Residents interested in donating an instrument can contact the boosters through Emily Hill at [email protected] or 513-362-5311, the group said.
