JACKSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Jackson Township is temporarily relocating its recycling dumpsters while crews repave the township’s maintenance lot, the township said in a Facebook post.
The dumpsters will move to the west end of the Community Center parking lot during the project, which will also include other site improvements at the maintenance lot, according to the township. Officials asked residents to use caution and watch for work crews when accessing the dumpsters and the Community Center and Township Office, both located at 3263 U.S. Route 50.
The Community Center serves as a hub for meetings and public events in the roughly 31-square-mile township, which has about 3,100 residents and a predominantly rural, agricultural character. The facility can seat up to about 96 people for meetings and gatherings.
Jackson Township was established in June 1834 and named for President Andrew Jackson — one of 37 townships across Ohio bearing his name, according to the township. It is governed by a three-member Board of Trustees, currently Joe Speeg, Rob Doyle and Shane Garr, along with Fiscal Officer Holly Isaacs.
