MILFORD, Ohio — Intermittent lane closures will begin Thursday on U.S. Route 50 east of Milford as contractors start a stream and bridge preservation project for the Ohio Department of Transportation, according to a news release shared by the city.
Crews with the Prus Construction Company will improve the stream channel beneath the U.S. 50 bridge between Olympic Drive and Klondyke Road. ODOT said the work is intended to minimize flooding and roadway overtopping caused by sediment buildup in the channel and to protect the bridge and embankment from scour.
Single-lane closures will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily beginning Thursday, with traffic maintained by flaggers, according to the release. Crews will work as weather permits, and the majority of construction is expected to be finished by late October or early November, though all work on the project is scheduled for completion by May 2027.
ODOT awarded Prus Construction Company a contract of approximately $655,092 to complete the project, the release said.
