BATAVIA, Ohio — Clermont County road crews will close two more roads this week for culvert work as landslide repairs, bridge replacements and a Duke Energy-managed lane restriction continue to disrupt travel around the county, the Clermont County Engineer’s Office said in a construction update posted Aug. 23.
Village Glen Road will close Monday, Aug. 24, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for a culvert replacement, according to the engineer’s office. Patterson Road, managed by Tate Township, will close from Aug. 24 through Aug. 28 for a separate culvert replacement.
Several other roads remain closed or restricted from earlier repair projects. Bethel Concord Road has been closed since April 11, 2025, for an emergency repair that remains in effect, the longest-running closure on the county’s list. Happy Hollow Road is under a lane restriction for landslide repair through Aug. 28, and Baldwin Road is undergoing a separate landslide repair through Sept. 18. Bach-Buxton Road and Clough Pike are under a Duke Energy-managed lane restriction from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily through Aug. 31, and White Oak Road remains restricted to weekday daytime hours through Sept. 15 while the Clermont County Water Resources Department installs a new water main, the office said.
Two bridge replacement projects are also underway. Felicity Cedron Rural Road is closed for the replacement of Bridge No. C45-2.45 through Nov. 17, and Spring Grove Road is closed for the replacement of Bridge No. C114-0.43 through Oct. 2. Clough Pike faces an additional closure Aug. 31 through Sept. 4 for a utility connection project, running 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to the engineer’s office.
Beyond the closures, county crews have a full slate of maintenance work planned this week. Bridge crews will perform work on Fagins Run Road’s Bridge No. T271-0.02 in Ohio Township, the office said. Ditching crews will work on Franklin Laurel Road in Monroe Township and Bethel New Richmond Road in Ohio Township, while guardrail crews continue storm cleanup and ditching on Wards Corner Road in Miami Township. Pipe crews will replace culverts on White Oak Road in Pierce Township, and sign crews will paint edge lines in Batavia, Union, Goshen, Monroe and Washington townships. Mowing crews will trim roadsides in Franklin, Washington, Monroe, Union and Miami townships, according to the update.
The engineer’s office cautioned that all work is contingent on weather and asked drivers for patience as crews work to maintain the county’s infrastructure. Questions can be directed to the office at (513) 732-8857 or through ClermontEngineer.org, the office said.
