CLERMONT COUNTY, Ohio — The Clermont County Public Library is inviting readers of all ages to take on a Halloween-themed challenge this month, offering prizes to patrons who log at least 13 days of reading in October.
The 13 Nights of Hallow-Read challenge runs through Oct. 31 and is open to readers of every age, according to the library. Patrons can register online through the library’s Beanstack platform, through the Beanstack app, or in person at any of the library’s branches.
Readers who sign up can pick up a tote bag starting Oct. 1 while supplies last, the library said. Anyone who logs 13 reading days this month earns a Laser Pop flashlight, and those who log 26 total days receive a sticker, with all prizes available while supplies last.
The challenge counts more than traditional books. Graphic novels, magazines, comics and audiobooks all count toward a participant’s reading total, according to the library.
The library encouraged patrons in its announcement to visit their favorite branch to redeem prizes and to find the sign-up link for the challenge.
Hallow-Read is one of several reading incentive programs run by the Clermont County Public Library, which traces its roots to a 1948 voter-approved measure establishing the library system; service to residents began in 1955. The library now operates 10 branches — in Amelia, Batavia, Bethel, Felicity, Goshen, Milford, New Richmond, Owensville, Union Township and Williamsburg — serving a county population of about 197,000 under director Chris Wick.
