BATAVIA, Ohio — Clermont County voters have until Nov. 1 to cast ballots in person at the county Board of Elections before the Nov. 3 general election, with steady early turnout prompting a reminder from Union Township officials this week.
Union Township said in a social media post that it had seen “many community members” stop by to vote early, and urged residents who haven’t yet cast a ballot to visit the Board of Elections office at 76 S. Riverside Drive in Batavia.
In-person early voting runs through Nov. 1, with no early voting the day before the election under state law. The board’s final hours before Election Day are 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, according to the Clermont County Board of Elections.
Absentee ballots mailed to voters must be returned to the board by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, when polls statewide are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Clermont County voters will decide several local tax measures this fall, including a five-year renewal of the county’s 0.8-mill children services levy, a continuing 1.99-mill levy for fire, EMS and police services in Union Township, and a combined facilities levy for the U.S. Grant Career Center’s campus in Bethel, according to the board of elections. Batavia Township voters will also consider a levy to establish a township-operated fire department.
Statewide, voters will weigh in on Issue 3, a proposed constitutional amendment that would require Ohioans to present photo identification to vote, the board said.
