BATAVIA TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A Pierce Township man is facing a felonious assault charge after investigators said he intentionally drove his vehicle off the roadway and struck another man following a dispute Thursday evening.
Jason Chadwick, 48, was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Clermont County Jail on one count of second-degree felonious assault, according to the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office.

The Clermont County Communications Center received multiple 911 calls around 5:54 p.m. Thursday reporting a disturbance in the 200 block of Wooded Ridge Drive, the sheriff’s office said. Additional callers then reported that a man had been struck by a vehicle.
Deputies arrived around 6:05 p.m. and found an adult male who had been struck by a vehicle driven by Chadwick, according to the sheriff’s office. Detectives with the sheriff’s office responded to the scene and began investigating.
Investigators determined the incident stemmed from an earlier confrontation, just minutes before, between the injured man and an adult woman, the sheriff’s office said. Chadwick, who was known to the woman, arrived at the scene after that confrontation. Detectives determined he then intentionally drove off the roadway and struck the victim with his vehicle.
The injured man was transported by the Central Joint Fire-EMS District to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he remained in stable condition, according to the sheriff’s office.
Detectives collected statements from multiple witnesses and reviewed video evidence related to the incident. Chadwick also gave a statement to detectives and admitted to striking the victim with his vehicle, the sheriff’s office said.
Chadwick appeared before Magistrate Jessica Little at the Clermont County Municipal Court on Friday for a bond hearing and was given a $1 million cash or surety bond, according to the sheriff’s office. He is scheduled to appear before Judge Nathan Little for a preliminary hearing Sept. 8.
The investigation remains open, and detectives said they will present the case to the Clermont County Prosecutor’s Office for review by a grand jury, which could consider additional charges, according to the sheriff’s office.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
