BATAVIA TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A tractor-trailer overturned on Clough Pike early Monday, closing the road directly in front of Batavia Township Community Park and leaving crews with what officials said would be a lengthy cleanup.
Batavia Township said in a Facebook post that the truck flipped near 1535 Clough Pike, the park’s address, around 8:45 a.m. Monday. Photos posted by the township showed the tractor-trailer resting on its side along the road’s shoulder as sheriff’s deputies and tow crews worked the scene in heavy fog.

“It’s going to be a while before they get this cleaned up,” the township said in its post, adding that it would issue an update once the road reopens.
The closure cuts off the main entrance to Batavia Township Community Park, the township’s roughly 71-acre flagship park. Officials said drivers can still reach the park, but must approach from the north by using Taylor Road rather than Clough Pike. The park includes the Louis Moore Memorial Walking Trail, a stocked fishing pond, two playgrounds, sand volleyball and pickleball courts, the David J. Stricker Dog Park, a seasonal splash pad and the township’s Veterans Memorial, dedicated in 2009.

The township has not released additional details about the crash, including the truck’s cargo or whether anyone was injured. No cause has been given for the rollover.
Drivers are advised to seek an alternate route around the closure until Batavia Township announces that Clough Pike has reopened.
