MILFORD, Ohio — A vehicle fire briefly shut down northbound lanes of Interstate 275 near the State Route 28 interchange Sunday afternoon, prompting a joint response from two Clermont County fire departments.
Milford Fire-EMS’s Engine 71 responded to assist Miami Township Fire & EMS at the scene, the department said in a social media post. All northbound lanes were closed while crews worked, though the department said traffic was expected to be moving again shortly.

The joint response reflects a routine mutual-aid arrangement between the two agencies. Milford Fire-EMS, based at Station 71 on U.S. 50, is operated by the nonprofit Milford Community Fire Department under contract with the city and funded through a local fire and EMS levy. The department also provides mutual aid to Miami Township, Goshen Township, Union Township, Terrace Park, Camp Dennison and the city of Loveland.
Miami Township Fire & EMS, headquartered on McPicken Drive, operates four stations staffed around the clock by more than 60 full-time firefighters working alongside part-time and volunteer personnel, covering a district that includes the I-275 corridor in that part of Clermont County.
