UNION TOWNSHIP, Ohio — The Clermont County Engineer’s Office has reopened the intersection of Clough Pike and Dixie Drive to through traffic after completing a culvert replacement project, the agency said in a Facebook post.
Clough Pike is now open in all directions at the intersection, and the engineer’s office said it does not anticipate any additional closures at that location.
The intersection, in Union Township, had been closed to through traffic from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sept. 22 and Sept. 23 while crews replaced the aging culvert carrying drainage beneath the roadway, according to a detour notice posted by the engineer’s office. Motorists were directed to use posted detour routes during the closure windows.
Culvert replacements are a routine but necessary part of road maintenance in Clermont County, where aging drainage pipes beneath rural and suburban roads can deteriorate and threaten pavement stability if left unaddressed. The Clermont County Engineer’s Office maintains roads and bridges across the county’s townships outside incorporated villages and cities.
The engineer’s office thanked residents for their patience during the work.
