BETHEL, Ohio — New bleachers are in place at Bethel-Tate Middle School’s football stadium, the result of a donation and hands-on work by students from Grant Career Center, the Bethel-Tate Local School District said.

Grant Career Center, the career-technical school that serves students from southern Clermont County districts, regularly sends students into the community for hands-on projects, from a countywide day of service to on-campus builds with nonprofit partners. Assembling the donated seating at Bethel-Tate gave students another chance to apply trade skills to a local project, according to the district.

Just down the way, a separate renovation of the school’s tennis courts is nearing completion, the district said. Crews have finished painting the courts’ playing lines and installing new nets, the latest steps in a rebuild that began earlier this year with a $59,090 grant from the U.S. Tennis Association, secured by the Bethel Area Tennis Association, and a $60,000 contribution from Clermont County’s community development block grant program. The district has said the project is being funded through those grants and community partners, not district funds.

The district credited the Bethel Area Tennis Association, the USTA, the Clermont County Board of Commissioners and volunteers for their support of the tennis court project, along with Grant Career Center for its work on the new bleachers.
