PIERCE TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Pierce Township will host a free “Movie in the Park” screening of the classic sitcom “The Munsters” at Locust Corner Park on Saturday, Oct. 10, as part of the township’s fall recreation programming, the township said in a Facebook post.
The screening is scheduled to run from 7:15 to 9:15 p.m. at the park, 961 Locust Corner Rd., according to the post.
Locust Corner Park spans a large tract adjacent to the Pierce Township Police Department and the township’s administration building, with paved walking paths, hiking trails, a children’s playground, picnic tables, baseball fields, a basketball court, and tennis and pickleball courts, according to the township’s website. The park also includes the Pierce Township History Trail, a walking route with QR-code markers that provide information on local history, and an off-leash dog park.
“The Munsters” aired on CBS from 1964 to 1966 and followed a family of good-natured monsters who considered themselves an ordinary American household, even as everyone around them reacted with horror — a satire of the suburban sitcoms popular at the time.
Pierce Township is governed by a three-member Board of Trustees and a fiscal officer, each elected to staggered four-year terms. The board holds public meetings on the second Wednesday of each month, according to the township.
