PIERCE TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Phone lines at the Pierce Township Police Department went down Tuesday afternoon after storms moved through Clermont County, and the department is directing anyone who needs police service to call the county’s emergency communications center instead.

“Due to the storm and lines down,” the department said in a Facebook post, its phones were not working. The department told residents to call the Clermont County Communications Center at (513) 732-2231 for police services until the outage is resolved.

The outage came as storms crossed the region Tuesday. The National Weather Service’s Wilmington, Ohio office issued a flood advisory Tuesday evening for southeastern Clermont County and southwestern Brown County after 2 to 2.5 inches of rain fell in a short span, according to the weather service.
