MILFORD, Ohio — A water main break has closed a stretch of westbound Main Street in downtown Milford, and city crews warned that water service to the entire block could be shut off while the repair is underway.
The closure covers westbound Main Street between Garfield Avenue and Mill Street, the city said in a Facebook post. Drivers are being detoured onto Water Street, which runs parallel to Main Street.
City officials said they would post an update if a full water shutoff for the block becomes necessary, and asked residents and business owners for patience while crews complete repairs.
The affected block sits in Milford’s historic downtown business district, where Main Street is lined with 19th-century storefronts, including a brick row of buildings dating to around 1840. The district sits along the Little Miami River, a federally designated national scenic river that also draws visitors to the nearby Little Miami Scenic Trail.
No timetable for reopening the road was given.
