GOSHEN, Ohio — Wendy Flynn, principal of Goshen Middle School, has been named the Ohio Association of Secondary School Administrators’ Zone 2 Middle School Principal of the Year for 2026-2027, Goshen Local Schools said in a Facebook post.

District officials formally presented Flynn with a plaque recognizing the honor Wednesday, according to the post.

OASSA, a statewide professional organization for middle and high school administrators, divides Ohio into 10 zones, each with its own director. Zone 2 covers eight counties — Adams, Brown, Butler, Clermont, Clinton, Hamilton, Highland and Warren — and is led by Jason Tackett, principal of Williamsburg Middle/High School, according to OASSA.

Flynn’s selection as Zone 2’s top middle school principal advances her to the statewide competition. OASSA’s state-level Principal of the Year is chosen by a panel of judges representing the organization’s board of directors, and the recipient is recognized each year at the OASSA Fall Conference in Columbus, according to the organization. Zone and state winners can also apply separately to compete for the National Association of Secondary School Principals’ national award.

“Ms. Flynn’s commitment to academic excellence and school community shines bright every day,” Goshen Local Schools said in its post announcing the honor, adding that she “leads with her heart.”

Goshen Middle School is part of Goshen Local Schools, based in Clermont County.
