PIERCE TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A storm that swept through Pierce Township on Tuesday knocked down trees and limbs across Pierce Preserve & Trails, forcing the township to close the park indefinitely, officials said.

The debris left the walking paths at the preserve, located at 3131 Pond Run Road, unsafe for visitors, Pierce Township said in a notice posted online. The township did not say when the park might reopen.

Pierce Preserve & Trails is one of seven parks Pierce Township maintains for residents, with trails among the amenities offered across the park system, according to the township.
