BATAVIA, Ohio — The Village of Batavia has released its first concept renderings for Riverwalk Park, giving residents a look at the paved trails, shaded benches and river overlooks planned for a stretch of the East Fork of the Little Miami River.
The images, posted to the village’s Facebook page, show a paved path winding along the riverbank, connecting downtown to the water’s edge. Village officials said the renderings are concepts rather than final photography, and the design could still change as the project moves forward.
The park is planned for the same stretch of riverfront along Riverside Drive that village crews cleared of overgrown brush earlier this month, the village said in a Sept. 2 Facebook post. That work was the first step toward the new park, with crews grading the site and seeding it with grass ahead of winter.

Riverside Drive runs along the East Fork of the Little Miami River through Batavia, the Clermont County seat. The road was formerly part of state Route 222 before it was redesignated.
Village officials said the renderings show benches, overlooks where visitors can pause above the water, and a paved trail intended to connect neighbors to the riverfront in the heart of the village. Construction updates will continue as the project develops, the village said.

The village’s public works crews are led by Superintendent Wayne Smith, and Village Council is presided over by Mayor C. Scott Runck, according to the village website.
