BATAVIA, Ohio — The Clermont County Park District will host its annual Winter Solstice Celebration at Sycamore Park on Friday, Dec. 18, from 5 to 8 p.m., the district announced in a social media post.
The free, family-oriented event marks the year’s shortest night with winter craft stations, including simmer-pot scent sachets, dipped candles and letters to Santa, along with a chance to meet Santa in person, according to the park district. A trail through the park will be decorated with lights for the occasion, and food trucks will sell hot beverages and treats.

No preregistration is required to attend, the park district said. The celebration has become a December tradition at the park district since replacing its longtime Winter Wonderland event with the solstice-themed gathering in 2021.
Sycamore Park, located along the East Fork in Batavia, is one of the park district’s largest properties and includes trails, shelters and access to the adjacent Wilson Nature Preserve. More information on the Winter Solstice Celebration is available by calling the park district at 513-732-2977.
