CLERMONT COUNTY, Ohio — Clermont County will hold its fourth and final History and Museum Day of 2026 on Sept. 19, giving residents one more chance this year to tour a dozen local museums and historic sites in a single outing.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. as part of the county’s History & Museum Passport program, according to the Greater Milford Area Historical Society, which promoted the date on its Facebook page. Visitors can pick up a free passport at any participating site and collect stamps as they travel between locations throughout the day.
The passport program is organized through Discover Clermont, the county’s convention and visitors bureau, and includes about a dozen participating museums and historic sites, according to the bureau’s website. Those sites include President Ulysses S. Grant’s birthplace in Point Pleasant, where the 18th U.S. president was born in 1822; the Bethel Historical Society & Museum; the Loveland Historical Society & Museum Center; the Promont House Museum in Milford; the Tri-State Warbird Museum; a New Richmond military museum; and the Owensville Historical Society and Museum.
This year’s four Museum Days, held Jan. 3, March 28, July 11 and now Sept. 19, are tied to the county’s America 250 celebration, marking the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Organizers describe the passport program as a way to help visitors “uncover the unique stories that make Clermont County special,” according to Discover Clermont’s website.
