BATAVIA TOWNSHIP, Ohio — An 18-year-old firefighter died after a three-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle in Clermont County, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.
The crash happened on State Route 131 near Dry Run Road just before 12:30 p.m. Monday.
Troopers said Wyatt Fisher, 18, was driving a 2006 Honda motorcycle eastbound when a Volkswagen Routan in front of him slowed for traffic. The motorcycle struck the back of the Routan, crossed left of center and hit a westbound Ford Escape, according to the patrol.
Fisher was flown to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he died.
Fisher was a firefighter with the Stonelick Township Fire Department in Batavia. He previously served as a cadet with Wayne Township Fire and EMS and was an assistant soccer coach at Clermont Northeastern High School, from which he graduated.
The Stonelick Township Fire Department, Wayne Fire Rescue Auxiliary and Clermont Northeastern School District issued statements mourning his death.
The crash remains under investigation.
